Finance and Accounts Committee of Southern Province

There are 8 committees in the southern Provincial Council under the standing orders and Provincial Accounts Committee is one of them. The Function of the Provincial Accounts Committee shall be to examine all accounts relating to the appropriation funds provided by the council to meet the expenses of the provincial council and other accounts presented before the council with the Auditor General’s report there on.

    Activities

01. 12 Committee meetings are held on annually and the observations and guidelines of the Auditor General’s reports are discussed.


02. Recommendations and institutions are given to the Provincial Ministries, Departments and local government bodies after discussing the audited report, Paragraphs in the Auditor General’s annual report.


03. The members of the committee are informed with the agenda of the committee which is held on 04th Monday of every month.


04. Creation of a financial discipline in the provincial ministries department and institutions.
